Hike Ringing Rocks on April Tent Campout

Our first tent trip of 2025 will be on April 25 to 27 at Camp Ockanickon. Scouts working on First Class will meet some requirements by traversing an orienteering course and using ropes and lashings to make a useful camp gadget. For new Scouts, the focus of the weekend will be on camping basics, and progress toward their early rank advancement.
The main activity for the weekend will be an afternoon hike at nearby Ringing Rocks Park.
We'll depart from the church at 6:30 Friday evening April 25 and get home in the early afternoon on Sunday. The $30 fee is due April 14.
As always meal planning and cooking will be done by the patrols. Here's the planning schedule for this trip:
- March 31: Menu packets distributed. Patrols assign Grubmasters and begin discussing what they want to eat.
- April 7: Patrols agree on what they want to eat and complete step 1 of the packet. Grubmasters take packets home and complete steps 2a by fleshing out the menu and step 2b by filling out the nutrition table.
- April 14: Patrols and ASPL approve menus and nutrition requirements, Grubmasters take home food boxes, complete step 3 by inventorying them, and complete step 4 by making their shopping lists.
- April 21: Final shopping list approved by Patrols and ASPL, checks issued to Grubmasters, Grubmasters take coolers home and purchase food.
Every Scout must bring a copy of this BSA permission slip signed by a parent. Scouts who are bringing medications with them must also give them to an adult leader in their original container along with a copy of this Medication Administration Form signed by a parent.
